Principles,Rules and Values

Even in today's world, there is a lot of importance of obeying the Principles. 

Principles not only set the guidelines of how things work and how they are supposed to be, but they also set up an organised path on which everyone is assumed to work on. Take any place , any field of life- Principles are the Governing force . In a corporate identity , the principles set forward tell each and every employee how to work , behave and operate. Even the employer ( boss ) has to follow the same set of rules ( principles ) ( like the timeframes, schedules of work , laws of behaving in an office environment etc. ) sometimes, in order that his employers follow them as well. Its these principles which make the working place all the more systematic and well-organised. 

Principles govern the conduct in an educational institute too. The students, the teachers have to obey particular rules and pre-set terms in order that the school remains a perfect place to get education from and not an entertainment club. All the students following a particular dress-code , keeping neat and tidy dresses, also keeping themselves clean all the time, not spoiling the school's complex with any dirty garbage, keeping a decent behaviour amongst themselves, not stealing or grabbing other's possessions, giving due respect to teachers , are among a few required rules to be followed by the students . Giving proper and adequate guidance to the students , possessing and providing indepth knowledge to the students on particular topics of their chosen subjects, maintaining discipline and silence during a particular period, co-ordinating with other teachers and the head of school are amongst the rules required to be followed by a teacher. 

At a place other than the school , like home or a public place you need to maintain decorum and follow the rules . For example, at home too the parents shouldn't use foul language on the cellphone or in person infront of their kids or even otherwise, even if he or she is very angry. Beating up a spouse infront of the kid is the last thing expected here . It not only creates a wrong impression in the mind of the kid, but also makes him feel that Violence is permissible everywhere. Even kissing your spouse vehemently infront of the child, should be considered improper. A child , who hasn't attained puberty, may feel that sex is a thing of public-demonstration , which perhaps it is not. 

Children should also think of what-to-do and what-not-to-do at places other than the school like your home or garden or other public place. At home, some children watch TV at high volumes, play games  online on DVD in a group for long hours, keep shouting all the time without any due cause, keep bullying over their younger siblings now and then, don't obey their parents frequently, don't eat proper or healthy food, etc. These things are not as per rules and they need to be amended. In a particular place like a Garden or a Restaurant, they shouldn't damage chairs or benches, prick flowers from a plant without the permission, throw stones at animals like dogs or roosters moving around, make more noise-- so that they may be considered as not violating the Rules. 

Abraham Lincoln once said ,"People will come and go but the Principles and Values will remain the same ." Principles and Values are here since Time immemorial. They govern the human society in such a way,that peace,prosperity and fraternity prevail at the same time and at the same place. Without them , the human society would no longer be called a Civilized society. Although, biologically humans are classified as animals, the basic difference between them and the other animals is these Principles and Values without which human society would resemble a group of primates moving around a forest area. 

Dependance, Independance and Inter-dependance

" Can you help me out in finishing my job ?"; "Can you please deposit MY Cheque in the bank while YOU pass through the bank ? "; " Can you do me a favour by handing over this bag to my brother while you pass near my home ? ";  Such questions are more frequent in the life of a DEPENDANT PERSON . 9 out of 10 such people donot make any noteworthy contributions in life . The reason is simple . You cannot expect others to do YOUR work . They may do it or maynot. If by chance, they do it , then the quality of work is not as good as what you can do it yourself . So why depend ? 

There comes the second strata , the second layer of professionals who can be defined as INDEPENDANTS. They normally donot depend on anyone for getting their work done. Whether it be in personal life, professional life or anywhere, they do their own work THEMSELVES. Hence they get the two obvious advantages -- 1) their work is never unfinished or untouched. 2) their work is always of a better Quality. The 3rd advantage can also come as a byproduct > they are more respected in their personal and professional circles !! Respect is a quality which is Earned by you and not demanded by you. The independant person always earns respect automatically !!

Up the ladder, is yet another level >> INTER-DEPENDANCE . Professionals at a higher level in their organisation always endeavour to achieve it. " Can we do this project in this particular manner ?"  "Can we achieve a turnover of 10 million by the end of this year ?" -- these are such questions which are commonly uttered by professionals who are Inter-dependant. Since they know that they can achieve certain tasks and goals INDEPENDANTLY , they now have the extra space to think about achieving their tasks in a Team or a Group. Now since both the parties are equally keen in doing their work independantly and efficiently , the entire project is more likely to be successful rather than meeting a failure and hence INTER-DEPENDANCE meets success more often than even INDEPENDANCE does !! See the magic here -- one person who is independant and successful combines with a group of other people who are equally independant and successful and generates a highly successful team !!! This is all what Team work is about !!

All the different teams working in any organisation, must have a common principle of functioning. First be independant and achieve your own goals with thorough efficiency and best output levels. Then co-ordinate with the other members of your team and try to construct a chain of successful operations or products -- in other words ,Inter-dependance. Whether it be any team , a Junior-level-sales-team , a middle-level-Management-team, a Human-resource-management-team , the basic concept remains the same . Be independant , and then be inter-dependant . Co-ordinate with each other very well at even the micro level. Strategize the plans together . Function well independantly. No wonder, the Best Results will follow  !!!! 

Importance of QUALITY

Take any field, any place in the world,Quality stands Foremost. If you can deliver High Quality persistently and consistently,no force on this planet can beat you. On the other side,if you compromise on Quality, you can be challanged and even defeated in a matter of no time.
Just think, what has made MERCEDEZ-BENZ,BMW,FORD,HONDA,TOYOTA super brands ? Their constant striving for Higher Quality all the time. They have huge QC departments (quality control departments) working tirelessly to achieve and maintain the highest possible quality in the auto industry.The reason why they have become Trendsetters in their field is,they are just so precise about their Quality.They check each and every nut and bolt fitted in their new vehicles for the perfect adherence to company's quality norms and if they find that something is not according to standards, they just don't put it for sale. There are no compromises whatsoever on the Quality front.

Not only the corporate sector,one may find examples of achievement and adherence to quality in sports,entertainment,education,computers, literally every field, where Quality has played a pivotal role in achievement of enduring success. Take for example Indian cricketer/batsman Rahul Dravid. When he started his career against England at Lords in 1996,who would have thought that he would achieve such huge milestones as what he has achieved so far ( 13000 test runs being just after sachin tendulkar ) !!! Everyone knew about Sachin that he was very talented and was most likely to be one of the best, but what about Dravid ? When he was new, he was considered good but not the best (so many fans rated him much below Saurav Ganguly,who could only amass 7100 odd runs as compared to Dravid's 13000 !) At 38,Dravid still practises for 4 hours a day,each day of the year to maintain his own high quality standards. His excellent cover drives and ground shots around the park,illustrate his supreme ability to convert those not-so-bad deliveries into ordinary ones.At 13000 test runs ( and still counting ) he is now considered as a legendary batsman even ahead of the greats like Brian Lara,Sunny Gavaskar and Steven Waugh. In the entertainment industry, one may take the example of AamirKhan. He is not nicknamed Mr.Perfect just like that. Before shooting for any scene in his home production films, he visualizes the scene and then tries to make the exact background and getover as what he had visualized earlier on. He never compromises on the quality of his background location,makeup of stars,the overall atmosphere, music ..almost all the aspects which are necessary to make the scene interesting and worth enjoying !! Sometimes he becomes the villager of "Lagaan" ,sometimes the frolicsome teacher of "Tare Zameen Par" and sometimes he becomes the collegian of "3 Idiots".In all his Avatars,you feel that he is exactly the one whom he tried to portray.He tries to give 100 percent to his films and so far he has succeeded in giving the Ultimate in Quality. I would like to call him the Steven Spielberg of the Hindi Film Industry ( although some of you may have a different opinion ! )

After taking those examples, the question that naturally comes to my mind is -- How to achieve and then maintain such high Quality standards for a longer duration of time ? What are the parameters which need to be set forth and then vigorously followed to achieve the highest possible quality ? What are the standards of discipline, hardwork and patience necessary to be maintained to achieve desirable levels of quality ? The answer to all these questions, will be examined thoroughly in my next blog,which will come out shortly. Thanks for reading.

Patriotism

Yesterday,Prashant Bhushan,a member of Team Anna was beaten up for making comments about Kashmir.He said he was in favour of a Referendum in Kashmir,in which the people of Kashmir should be given the right to decide whether Kashmir should be an independant nation or remain as an integral part of India.Undoubtedly such highly liberalized remarks would provoke the rightists,who think that India can and should never be divided further. So some young people rushed inside the office of Prashant Bhushan and bashed him up for his unscrupulous and antinational remarks.

The question here is of propriety. Did Prashant Bhushan say the right thing when he commented about the freedom of Kashmir ? Should he be excused for making such remarks under the pretext that he has the freedom of speech,living in a democracy like India ? Or should he be punished ? If at all, he should be punished or opposed,is this the right way to oppose him - by beating him badly ?

Evidently, he went completely wrong when he was saying that the Youth of Kashmir deserved a Referendum on what should be the future of Kashmir. After so much of bloodshed of innocent men and women in Kashmir,and after the immigration of almost all the Hindus from Kashmir,we can't let it to be hived off from the rest of the nation,only because some seperatists over there want it to be a seperate identity.
Every true Indian will like to see Kashmir , being a part of India Forever.

Everything has its own limit,however.Freedom of speech isn't granted to us,so that we keep on commenting thoughtlessly (giving your thoughts the name "Liberalized views")about sensitive issues, which can stir someone up.You should think twice before you make a Public statement about a burning issue like Kashmir.Just because,you were supported by the Public as heroes during your campaign against corruption,especially due to Anna Hazare, doesnt give you the authority to speak about burning and sensitive national issues relentlessly.It was a clear case of Misuse of the fundamental right of Freedom of speech.He deserved opposition from anywhere and everywhere.

However, the punishment dished out to him was also improper.If you donot like a person's comments you can oppose him verbally by arguing with him or at the best shout slogans against him in protest.But you can't use Violence to thrash him for what he spoke.This is called Hooliganism, which cannot be endorsed in a civilized society.

Inshort,patriotism cannot be showed by beating someone up just because his views were anti-national.There are far better ways to show your Patriotism, rather than this one. Such events make the nation's pride to descend.

Reasons for Success

One student asked me yesterday," Sir,why do some people succeed in life, while so many of them Fail ?" The answer to it from my side - "Total dedication,perseverance and patience combined with Discipline."
If you possess all of these qualities, you are very likely to succeed in a huge way.Presence of even one of the above will help you a lot in proceeding towards your desired Goal.Dedication is your commitment towards your work in terms of achieving the targets as per schedule. Perseverance is Hardwork.Total ruthless Hardwork.Then comes Patience.Its a low profile virtue,but its an essential supplement to the above two virtues. Without Patience,one can't achieve Longterm Success. To attain success is less difficult. To maintain it for a long term is much more difficult.This comes through a sheer quality called patience.Its that inner voice inside you,which keeps on telling you," Mate,today wasn't my day but i will again try harder tomorrow ....".Patience can be enhanced through Pranayam and Meditation. Last but not the least is Discipline.To understand what Discipline is and how it contributes in our success, lets take the example of two cricketers.
Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli started their cricketing careers almost together in early nineties.Initially,although Sachin was more talented,Vinod was more successful !! When he hit 4 centuries in a row,people started comparing him to Sir Don Bradman !Two of those centuries he converted into Double hundreds ! Whilst Kambli was in full bloom, Sachin wasn't.He hardly hit a Fifty in those four test matches in which Kambli flourished. But he was more Disciplined and believed in himself.
Slowly Kambli started moving in late night parties and got back to the hotel room late quite often.This had an impact on his batting form.While Sachin was very disciplined.He never went to late night parties and went to bed early.Kambli,inspite of losing his touch, continued to remain astray and decided to work in some films as his sidejob ! Sachin was fully focussed on Cricket.The result is history.Vinod Kambli was finally kicked out of the Indian cricket team due to his deteriorating form and now he sits in the benches to watch Sachin still playing for India after 22 years and creating newer records all the time !!! As on today, Sachin is considered as a Legend while Kambli is a forgotten saga ! The main difference between the two is DISCIPLINE.One never knew what it means, while the other worshipped it and obeyed it fully.

If described at length,the above four virtues can fill up bytes and bytes of data.Each word is so precious for the person, who can rightly evaluate it.However,I think this much is enough for today. Good night and Take care.

INSIGHT

Date- 10th October,2011.

It was a fulfilling day with respect to my work with a lot of energy and zeal.

In the process of my daily routine,I happened to watch an online video containing the 1st episode of a 13-episode TV series "COSMOS" by Carl Sagan.It was named as "The shores of the Cosmic Ocean". I was highly impressed once again to see it.( once again because I had seen it way back in 1987 as a student of class 12th )

" Why would a very moderate bluish planet like our Earth be the only place to have Life on it, when billions of planets and celestial bodies carry almost every essential elements necessary to produce and sustain Life ?" asks Sagan in the middle of this very vivid and highly informative episode. "I personally believe that there is no reason why Life wouldn't be there in plenty,somewhere amongst the large amount of satellites and planets up there." he concludes his argument.

Infact this very question of the existence of Living identities somewhere on some planet or a satellite ( or even a meteor )has been puzzling the scientists since decades now. There was a probability of the presence of Life on Mars,but with the proof that there is no water on it as on today, that possibility has been denied temporarily. Scientists have now been considering the case of possibility of life on anyone of the 39 moons of Jupiter or that on 30 of Saturn.That day on which they find Life on any of these natural satellites,would definitely be a Milestone in Space Research.

Its amazing to know that the matter by which the stars are made up of, is exactly the same in which the Sun and our planets are made up of viz.Hydrogen,Helium,carbon,etc.Carbon,Hydrogen and Oxygen constitute organic molecules of which protein and DNA chain is made up of in almost each living body.Thus we can invariably state that we are made up of STAR MATTER !!!

Also there exists an amazing analogy between the Rotation of planets around the Sun (the biggest phenomenon in the solar system) and the Rotation of electrons around the Nucleus of an atom ( the smallest phenomenon in our solar system).Both rotate in the same way and the same principles of physics apply to both of them !!! Really surprising, isn't it ?

Introduction

During our daily chores, we experience and feel a variety of emotions. Some subside down immediately, while some of them continue to hover over our nervous system (including brain ), until you don't actually firmly decide to give them up. Some thoughts and emotions, would be those which reflect your inborne tendency to perceive yourself as a superior identity on this planet wherever you go ,while contrastingly some show your negative feelings, which relect your hidden fears and apprehensions. The more you succeed in suppressing the negative thoughts and energies and divert them into positive ones, the more you succeed in this modern sphere of life.

This blog attempts at the same process of first showing what went through my mind during the time when negative energies travelled all around me and then how much I succeeded in re-establishing the positive atmosphere by myself or by any other aid,around me.

Honest and sincere attempts are also being made to think about, analyse and state the answers to different problems and situations,which crop up suddenly during our modern day life.Whether that attempt can be called Genuine and Final, or just a little Freak's effort, is a matter of personal jurisdiction and i donot wish to impose my personal views onto anyone if they don't agree with my interpretations.
